About

This blog is my thoughts and discoveries as I push along to a Private Pilot’s License (PPL).

I have no more aviation background than the average enthusiast. I’ve played Microsoft’s Flight Sim since version 3 for DOS, and I’ve flown on one too many airline’s as a passenger, but as I write this page I’ve yet to sit in the cockpit and take the stick I’ve started racking up flight time!

I’ve decided to pursue my license for my own enjoyment and edification. I don’t think a career in the airline industry is quite for me. I don’t know where this road will take me, but I know that it’s something I feel a passion for, so it’s high time (no pun intended) to get started.

I’ll be taking training through Galvin Flying (http://www.galvinflying.com) based out of Boeing Field / KBFI in Seattle. My training aircraft will be either a Diamond DA-40 or a DA-20 (probably both).  Update: I’m training out of Crest Field in a Cessna 172 as well.

Air Log:

Time in flight: 6.2 hrs
FAA Simulator: 0 hrs
Airports in/out: KBFI, KHQM, S36 (Crest), S50 (Auburn)
Planes Piloted (& Model Year): Diamond DA-40XL w/ G1000 (’07), Cessna SkyHawk 172 (’78/79), Cessna Skylane 182 (’68)
